Those who attended this summer’s initial Richmond Jazz Festival, many of whom are avid listeners of the KISS Quiet Storm, have been consistently calling me and e-mailing us about bringing more live jazz to the Capital City. In these past few days since Jazz Saxophonist Richard Elliott performed live at the Milestone Jazz Lounge, those calls have started to come in again. As host of the show, all I can say is what a performance! What a perfect setting! Who needs Blues Alley? (Unless you’re in D.C. of course) Elliott made his mark as a member of the famed Tower Of Power” horn section, and he wowed the full house at the Milestone with his amazing talents and soothing sounds. Good news Richmond, The Milestone management says there’s more to come!
