Divorce is never an easy subject. It can be mentally hard on anyone. A new study shows that divorce also causes physical health risks and could play a role in an early death. Researchers at the University of Arizona studied data from 5,786 people, 926 of them were divorced or separated and not re-married.
The study shows that those who were divorced have a lower life satisfaction and a lower life satisfaction can lead to lower levels of physical activity, thus causing an early death. Also, being divorced means not having a partner to monitor your health behaviors. The study revealed that divorcees are more likely to smoke.
This, of course, isn’t always the case. Some people see divorce as a reason to turn their life around and get in good physical shape. Did divorce have any noticeably negative effects on your health?
