Ciara sparked backlash recently after posting a clip of a sermon from pastor John Gray, where he tells women, “You’re not a wife when I marry you, you’re a wife when I find you,” with the caption “level up.” Many women on social media took it as her saying it’s their fault for being single and unmarried.
After the backlash, Ciara later clarified herself by stating, “I was a single mom sitting at home and then I realized that the perfect love I was looking for was how God loves me. That’s when I realized married or not, I need to love myself.”
