When he realized that one of his vocal chords was torn, Frank Ocean canceled his sold-out tour in Australia. This announcement came right after opening night, from a statement on Livenation’s Facebook page.

The singer had throat problems on the first night of the Down Under tour on Thursday. Afterwards, he visited doctors who diagnosed him.

“After last night’s concert … it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show,” said the promoter of the show in a statement on Facebook. “It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal (cords) and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice.”

The tour was meant to coincide with Australia’s music festival Splendor in the Grass, but that’s not going to happen.
