A man who had been accused of killing a woman in North Carolina, committed suicide in the parking lot of the Hopewell Police Station.
Wilber Price Jr, killed himself at about midnight on Monday.
His wife, Myrtle Knowles Carr, was found dead in her home (at Rocky Point) on Wednesday, according to deputies at the Pender County Sheriff’s Department. Her body was found when emergency crews responded to a fire at her house.
Price is from Virginia but was currently living with Carr in Rocky Point. However, according to officials, there were some issues between Price and Carr’s family. It was stated that Carr recently filed a report with the sheriff’s office Wednesday that Price had stolen $4,400 in saving bonds.
According to officials, evidence incriminating Price in Carr’s death was found in his car, including a suicide note and a handgun.
The Pender County Fire Marshal’s Office, as well as SBI’s arson unit are helping the deputies in the investigation.
