The University of Richmond defeated Dayton on Saturday in Atlantic City to win the Atlantic-10 Championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, which gets underway this week at various sites. The Spiders will travel to Denver, Colorado to face SEC member Vanderbilt on Thursday. Coach Chris Mooney’s team is one of five Virginia men’s teams dancing in 2011. The Spiders have made a March Madness name for themselves by pulling off stunning upsets in past appearances, and again have the kind of team capable of winning a couple of NCAA games……..maybe more!
