A Manhattan dermatologist is suing a Manhattan gym after she claims she was injured while trying out a new pole-dancing fitness class.

Dr. Sue Ann Wee filed a lawsuit last week against the parent company that runs the Crunch fitness center chain.

Lawyer Nicholas Warywoda claims she seriously hurt both her shoulders when she slid down a pole and fell onto the floor during a class in June.

Warywoda said the instructor ignored his client when she clearly stated she couldn’t hold her self up during an upside-down maneuver. The lawsuit alleges the instructor continued on with the class, paying no attention to her injury.

“It’s a dangerous maneuver,” said Nicholas Warywoda. “But if you tell somebody to do it, you have to be ready to spot them.”

Sue Ann Wee had signed up for the free class at a friend’s insistence, the lawyer said.

Dr. Wee, who is a dermatologist based in New York, is seeking unspecified damages. She says her injuries kept her out of work for 6 months.

Crunch Fitness has declined to comment.
