Hopewell city officials sent out a notice in a social media post around seven last night that the water was not safe to drink or use because it was discolored. According to city officials, the water is now safe to drink and use again.

Downtown Hopewell comes alive this weekend, September 17 & 18, for the annual Hooray for Hopewell, look for arts and crafts, music, a petting zoo and entertainment around the Appomattox Regional Library and the Hisotric Beacon Theatre. It’s a free festival and is open to the public.
