NASCAR crowned a new racing champion on Sunday. The thing is, he’s not exactly new to this, but Jimmie Johnson is definitely true to this. He drove the #48 Lowe’s Chevy to a second place finish in the season finale and outpointed Chesterfield native Denny Hamlin to win his 5th straight Sprint Cup Championship. Congratulations to Hamlin on a great season that ended with car problems and a back-of-the-pack finish. However, for a kid who seemingly just finished Manchester High School a couple of years ago, it’s been a dream year. A tough off-season ahead as the Fed-Ex team is left to wonder how they let the Sprint Cup Title slip away in the final two races.
