Can you believe that the biker short and butterfly collar shirt wearing, flat top hair having, rap comedians Kid N Play celebrated the 20th anniversary of their hit hip hop movie House Party this year?. I just recently found out that Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince we originally asked to play the leads in the movie and they turned it down…. WHAT! Ok, I’m definitely not mad that they did because soon after NBC introduced “The Fresh Prince of Bell Air”. But back to Kid N Play and House Party.. this movie launched the careers for some well known actors and comedians. Taisha Campbell, Martin Lawerence, A.J. Johnson, Gene “Groove” Allen (of Groove B. Chill), Kelly Jo Minter, John Witherspoon and the late Robin Harris. Recently the duo were recognized at an event hosted by the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.
