After confirming he was one of the individuals pictured in a medical school yearbook showing one person n blackface and another in the KKK’s white hood and robe, Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam apologized through a video.
Northam faced immediate backlash from political figures on both sides of the aisle whave called for him to resign. Virginia Democratic Party released a statement on Saturday indicating that Northam may not resign immediately, saying: “We made the decision to let Governor Northam do the correct thing and resign this morning — we have gotten word he will not do so this morning.”
