A lot of people are hoping Black Panther’s box office and cultural success will translate into Academy Awards gold. One of the biggest cheerleaders is Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.

He said, “I think there are a lot of amazing artists that helped to make that movie and it would be wonderful if they could be recognized. Almost everyone involved in that movie, bringing that movie together, is great, and it would be wonderful to see if they’re recognized.”
Usually superhero movies don’t get nominations outside of the Visual Effects category. Feige hopes the Black Panther director, writers, actors and costume designers can get some love for Oscar consideration. Do you think the Academy Awards will recognize Wakanda?
