Sex education is an important part of a child’s education, but when should it start? In North Wales, it is now required that children will start learning sex education at the age of 5.
The whole sex education program is changing from when you were in school, and now includes lessons on consent, domestic abuse, and LGBTQI+ sexuality, so it’s best to start them young, but how young is too young?
5-year-olds can barely read or write, are they too young to start being taught sex education? Will they even know what is being talked about or will it make them confused? Could it hurt their developmental process more than help? Do you want to see this happen in your country?
