TMZ is reporting that Edward Crawford, Jr., the man in the iconic protest photo tossing a gas canister back at police while wearing an American flag shirt, has been found dead from a gunshot wound.
Police are speculating that it was self-inflicted but Crawford’s father stated to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, “I don’t believe it was a suicide” and he doesn’t understand why the investigation is so hush hush.
Crawford Jr. leaves behind 4 children, he was only 27 years old.
