The NBA is finally responding to requests for NBA All-Star game to be moved from Charlotte to Atlanta in 2017 after the passing of North Carolina’s  House Bill 2 which repeals part of Charlotte’s nondiscrimination ordinance.

HB2 is supposed to ensure that people can use public restrooms, locker rooms, and changing areas without being exposed to people of the opposite sex biologically but the Atlanta City Council says the bill discriminates against the LGBT community.

NBA Spokesman stated:

“We appreciate the invitation but are hopeful that the city of Charlotte and the state of North Carolina can work through their differences far in advance of the 2017 All-Star Game.”
