A Day Fit for A King: On Saturday, June 22, 2013, “Miss Community” Clovia Lawrence of the Radio One Family hosted Richmond’s community forum FREE for men from 12:00pm-3:00pm at Trinity Family Life Center.  She was joined by a diverse panel of professionals, local citizens, counselors along with an audience of outspoken men poised to let their voices be heard.

“Miss Community” opened the floor to hear what is on the hearts of men through true-life stories of conflict, self-discovery and injustices, resolution and forgiveness.  The distinguished panelist:  KJ 5000 of 99.3/105. 7 Kiss Fm, US Congressman Robert C. “Bobby” Scott,  Motivational Speaker, Author and Host of Transformation Radio Enrique PascalMotivational Speaker Rodney White, Richmond Sheriff CT Woody, Kevin Bledsoe of Tony Hill’s Nutrition and Fitness Solutions, Pastor Dwayne E. Whitehead Sr of World Overcomer’s Family Church and Anthony Pressley, State Farm Agent.

Finally, a platform for men to discuss today’s hotly debated topics -family values, child support, education, low self-esteem, substance and domestic abuse to list a few. Often men find themselves disturbed, frustrated disillusioned with public policies, race inequality and the disparity of employment opportunity and imprisonment.  The media depiction of today’s  male is frequently that of self-destructive, materialistic monster devoid of goals or desire for long-term success.

Miss Community Clooovia founded the men’s forum in January 2007. Many often asked, “How are you going to get men to speak?” I said the power of God and the rest is history. It’s time for solutions to the confusion. Men you are loosed.

Thanks for your support title sponsors, vendors, panelists, and attendees. The men’s forum was a huge success brought to you by Radio One Incorporated and Miss Community Clovia Lawrence.

This year’s theme is “What Does a Real Man Look Like” which is the title of Enrique Pascal’s book. Watch highlights from the “Ladies Listen Up, Men Are Talking” men’s forum. The men are ready to continue the conversation to reach other men, family and community. The forum engaged the spirit man, the broken man, the physically fit man, the honorable man, the good man, the family of the incarcerated man and the dead man walking.
