Steelers ‘Cleaning House’? James Farrior, Former Matoaca HS/UVA Star Among Veterans Let Go
He’s been the anchor of the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 10 seasons, he’s won Super Bowls, and he’s been an All-Pro at middle linebacker. Because of the Steelers’ financial concerns, former Matoaca HS/UVA star James Farrior is one of the latest veterans being released in the Steel City. Farrior joins WR Hines Ward and DE Aaron Smith as well known and respected players being let go by the team, and others who have restructured their contracts to make some cap room. Surely Farrior will be wearing somebody’s jersey next season, but it will be an adjustment not seeing him don the Black & Gold.
