Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal will reportedly run for “undersheriff of Lake County, Fla.,” he revealed in an interview with the New York Times.
When asked how his law enforcement career was going, Shaq responded by announcing his intention to run for undersheriff in Lake County, Fla. Shaq has previously discussed his interest in becoming a part of the law enforcement field.
Despite Shaq’s reputation as being a jokester, this recent declaration has some weight. The 7’1 former NBA center has experience helping law enforcement in Florida.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, in 2007 Shaq helped police chase down a teenager who veered into O’Neal’s parked Escalade. He was able to catch the teenager, then hold him until a police officer arrived to arrest him.
