The American Red Cross and the City of Petersburg will provide dinner at Vernon Johns Junior High School this evening, September 1 at 6 p.m. Vernon Johns Junior High is located at 3101 Homestead Drive, next to Petersburg High School.
Over the past two days, nearly 2,000 meals have been given to Petersburg residents who are without power. Many thanks to the Red Cross and all the city workers who have assisted with this porgram.
NOTE: The city of Petersburg curfew has been lifted, however, residents you are encourage to drive with extreme caution at night. There are still downed trees and powerlines.
NOTE: Petersburg City Public Schools Back-to-School Kickoff scheduled for Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Petersburg High School has been postponed due to continued power outages. A new date for this event has not been scheduled.
