The latest champion in the celebrity battle of the bulge? Singer/actress Janet Jackson, who reveals a slimmed down figure in a commercial for the Nutrisystem weight loss program, scheduled to begin airing on Monday, April 9.

And while she’s keeping quiet about just how much weight she has lost — “For Janet, it’s about feeling good,” a rep for the program says.

Janet has opened up about what weight-loss success looks like, flaunting her tiny new waistline in promotional photos and wearing the year’s hottest color — tangerine.

Struggling with her weight is “something I’ve dealt with all my life,” Jackson, 45, told Us Weekly in December, when she signed on as a spokesperson for Nutrisystem. “People can relate to me because I have lived it. I truly understand what it’s like to have a problem with weight loss, losing too much weight or gaining more than you desire to and becoming unhealthy,” she said.

In January, Janet Jackson stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno where she said her heaviest weight was 180 pounds, a number she hit while preparing for a movie role that was later postponed.

Recently, Janet’s weight gain was a result of emotional eating following her brother Michael Jackson’s death in 2008, a habit she revealed in her diet and self-esteem book, “True You”.

Janet Jackson joins a growing list of celebrity weight-loss spokespersons, including singer/actress Jennifer Hudson, singer Mariah Carey and former NBA star Charles Barkley.

In an interview with USA Today, Janet said, “I’m not viewing this as a diet. I’m not putting a number on it. I don’t look at the scale. I’m going about it in a different way this time.”
