I know many people love to eat when they get stressed but there are certain foods good to snack on when your stress levels reach outer space. Some foods can actually help you relieve stress but a cheeseburger is not one of them. Try these healthier choices and watch your stress disappear.

Nuts – Most nuts are filled with magnesium, which will keep cortisol levels low. Cortisol is directly tied to stress level, so go for nuts!

Sorbet – Sugary foods usually decrease levels of anxiety-producing hormones, but you still don’t want to eat too much candy. A good substitute is sorbet, it taste just like ice cream.

Salmon – Omega-3 fatty acids help brain cells to function better together, which will  help you to deal with stress more effectively.

Milk – Milk contains tryptophan, which once enters the body turns in a mood-boosting serotonin. Milk also contains calcium, which helps with blood pressure.

Black Tea – A study by University College London shows that drinking black tea four times a day for six weeks lowered the stress hormone cortisol after a stressful event.
