Nashville, Tennessee resident James Shaw Jr. continues to receive accolades from across the country for his heroism in stopping a deadly attack from becoming potentially deadlier at a Waffle House in Antioch a couple of weeks ago.
Shaw set up a GoFundMe page for the victims of the attack. As of this morning, that page has received better than $229,000 worth of donations.The account closes on May 13. After that, Shaw said, the Nashville office of financial services firm UBS will distribute the money to the victims and their families.
There is another GoFundMe page set up to create a college fund for Shaw’s four-year-old daughter. That page has raised more than $218,000 of it’s $200,000 goal. Travis Reinking is the suspect in the Waffle House killings of four people. He remains jailed without bond.
