Richmond police have found someone who they consider a ‘person of interest’  in the attempted abduction of a young girl near the Powhatan Community Pool.

As of right now, police say they have no interest in searching for anyone else. There have not been any arrests or charges at the moment, but detectives are looking to determine potential charges.

Inka Winters, 10, and her brother were making their way to the pool on Tuesday when a man in a van pulled up alongside them and attempted to lure them inside, according to police. She refused and safely made it to the pool, where she notified the proper authorities.

Officers have advised parents to make sure children don’t walk alone.

Police say tips from the community helped them track down the person of interest. They are still asking anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
