How did KISS – FM find out today was Gladys Knight’s birthday? Don’t be silly, we “Heard It Through The Grapevine”! The legendary Ms. Knight, along with those fabulous Pips, helped shape the sound of R & B music with so many unforgettable hits. “If I Were Your Woman”, “Midnight Train To Georgia”, and “Neither One Of Us” were just a few of the songs that we still know practically all of the words to some 30 or 40 years later. On this Tuesday, May 28th, 2013, Gladys Knight celebrates her 69th birthday, and we salute this multi-Grammy Award winner who started on the Ted Mack Hour waaaaaaaaaay back in the day.
Gladys still looks very beautiful and is still performing. In fact she’s appearing at this year’s 2013 Hampton Jazz Festival. What a treat!
