Monday Night Raw, the WWE’s staple television broadcast was interupted by an emergency situation as announcer Jerry ” The King ” Lawler, who has been involved with the sport for over 40 years, suffered a heart attack while broadcasting live on the program. Broadcast partner Michael Cole alerted the audience that there was a “serious” situation going on with Lawler, who had wrestled in a tag-team match earlier in the evening.
Lawler needed CPR before being taken out of the arena in Montreal and was aided quickly by medical personel already on standby at ringside. At last report, Lawler is resting comfotably in a Canadian hospital while many fans and current & former pro wrestlers have expressed their thoughts and support for the man known as ” The King “.
