The annual college basketball game between CIAA & 804 rivals Virginia State and Virginia Union University was moved from the cozy confines of their on-campus facilities to the Richmond Coliseum 16 years ago to not only increase visibility, but to also honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday in a fitting fashion.  Central VA’s two Historically Black Colleges went at it again on the court last night on Dr. King’s birthday.  The Trojans were hoping for a few breaks, and considering this Panthers team isn’t quite as strong as past seasons, perhaps they could end the 10-year, 22-game losing streak in 2012.  We Va, State alums and fans will just have to pack it in until next year as the Trojans gave a great effort, but fall in the final seconds 63-61 to Va. Union.  Unfortunately, the streak lives on…..
