MLK Memorial Dedication is now set for October 16. This date will mark the 16th anniversary of the Million Man March on the National Mall in 1995.
The memorial dedication was scheduled for August 28 which would have been the 48th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King JR’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech on the National Mall. The dedication was delayed because of Hurricane Irene that ripped through Washington, DC.
President Barack Obama was scheduled to speak in August and is now scheduled to speak in October, said Ed Jackson JR the memorial’s executive architect.
