ABC has canceled Extreme Makeover: Home Edition after nine years on the air and will wrap on Friday, Jan. 13, the network announced Thursday.

The series will end with its 200th episode, in which the team will build seven homes in seven days for families in Joplin, Mo., affected by the May 2011 tornado.

Although the two-time Emmy winner for Outstanding Reality Program will no longer continue as a series, ABC plans to air four specials beyond the ninth season. Longtime host Ty Pennington will still be seen on ABC. He was recently brought on to co-host the network’s upcoming daytime talk show, The Revolution, which will debut on Monday, Jan. 16.

“It is with a somber heart I close this chapter, but with such excitement I begin the next one,” designer Michael Moloney said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported Extreme Makeover’s cancellation. “I have EM:HE to thank for the platform I have to continue doing good work and great design in 2012 and on.”
