The Richmond Flying Squirrels enjoyed what most Double-A teams can only wish for, a sell-out crowd last night at the Diamond for their home opener against Altoona. The Squirrels gathered nearly 10,000 fans on the Boulevard for a 7-3 Eastern League victory. The two teams will play again on Friday night, first pitch at 6:35pm. The Flying Squirrels also plan to honor the great baseball icon and the first black player in the Major Leagues, Jackie Robinson, during Sunday afternoon’s game.
