Actress Halle Berry has decided she wants to move to France, and take her daughter with her.

Early this week, Berry, reportedly, filed papers with the court requesting permission to move from Los Angeles to France, the home of her current boyfriend Olivier Martinez.

Sources say Halle wants to take her 3-year-old daughter Nahla with her, but the child’s father, male model Gabriel Aubry, is upset by the turn of events.

Also, although Halle Berry was not engaged to Olivier Martinez when numerous outlets reported in December, TMZ reports she is now. Berry reportedly became engaged sometime after the first of the year.

According to reports, Berry claims it would be safer for her and her family to be in France.

Gabriel Aubry, who was recently investigated for battery and child endangerment following an alleged altercation with 3-year-old Nahla’s nanny, thinks the proposed move is ‘punitive’ and would lead to him never seeing his daughter.

Two weeks ago, following the investigation into Aubry’s alleged actions against the nanny, Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services caseworkers recommended Halle and Gabriel attend parenting classes together to help them co-parent their daughter. The classes would give them the tools to work through their issues, and hopefully become better parents for it.

While Halle Berry does not need permission to move [herself] to France, because of the child custody case, the judge will determine if she can permanently move Nahla.
