The City of Richmond and the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League (MJBL) are joining forces to sponsor the Inner City Classic tournament, the oldest and longest running city baseball tournament in the country, the opening ceremony is at The Diamond, with games from August 1st August 31st at various fields in Richmond including the Diamond.
As part of the tournament experience, players will have the opportunity to visit four area colleges, VUU, VSU, VCU and U of R as well as attend a flying Squirrels game and spend an afternoon at Kings Dominion. The public is invited to a free morning workout session with fitness gurus “Lisa and Priest” of Whole Life Styles Inc. on Saturday, August 4th at 9am in Byrd Park beside Fountain Lake. There will also be a health fair following the workout.
