In separate primary elections, House Majority Leader Republican Congressman Eric Cantor ousted Floyd Bayne with 80% voter support and J. Randy Forbes defeated R.M. Bonnie Girard with 89% voter support. Cantor will challenge (D)E. Wayne Powell to retain his house seat in November.
