Today marks the three year anniversary of President Obama signing the Credit Card Reform Act into law. Credit card companies were charging hidden fees, duplicate fees, overdraft fees, extra charges and increased interest rates. The Credit Card Reform Act ended the predatory practices for consumers.

Michael Blake recently worked at the White House as the Associate Director of the White House’s Office of Public Engagement. He nationally coordinates outreach to African American and minority business leaders in the community.

Michael Blake has left the White House and has joined President Obama’s re-election campaign. Blake serves as the Deputy Director of the Obama Campaign’s Operation Vote program, which is dedicated to engaging and mobilizing key communities, including African Americans, Hispanics, youth and women.

Michael Blake has been named one of the “Talented Ten” Obama staffers by the Root.

Blake discussed during our interview that President Obama enacted the Credit Card Act to protect consumers from predatory practices. Also, Blake discussed the benefits of the credit card act.
