The FLOTUS First Lady Michelle Obama was in Dallas, Texas recently celebrating the 2nd anniversay of her “Let’s Move” campain and tour. She told Tom Joyner that childhood obesity was viewed as hopeless. Now, the community and the country are coming together on this issue and we have far exceeded the expectations.

Mrs. Obama says that her family eats in moderation. She said, “that we are who we are and try to do our best to be the best”. She said, that her mom told her “that everybody’s not gonna like you.”

“Let’s Move” is about getting parents the resources that they need in neighborhoods. Mrs. Obama said, “there are no grocery stores in most neighborhoods if children want a fresh piece of fruit. They don’t exist.” Her campaign is teaming up with Wal-mart to open new stores in food deserts.

“We have to go where the kids are at that’s to the Disney channel”, she said her popularity is up with pre-teens.

Mrs. Obama said, we must be healthy. “Let’s Move” now in its second year is a celebration, a birthday and great accomplishments.
