Comedienne/Talk Show Host Joy Behar’s HLN show will call it quits at the end of the year, the network confirmed Thursday.

“I am very proud of the show that we created at HLN and I owe tremendous thanks to the show team who made it possible,” Behar said in a statement. Behar is also one of the co-hosts of the ABC show, “The View.”

The final episode of her HLN program will air in mid-December – it will be replaced by one of HLN’s current programs, the network said.

“The Joy Behar Show” debuted in September 2009. Since the show moved to the 10 pm hour in mid-January, it has averaged just under half a million viewers, which is about 7 percent better than HLN had been doing at the same time last year with reruns of Nancy Grace’s show.

But, among the 25-54 year old viewers who are the target audience of news shows, Behar’s show was down 18 percent compared to those Grace repeats.

“Joy and her team produced over 500 episodes of a show that featured news-making interviews, great conversation and plenty of humor,” HLN general manager Scot Safon said on Thursday, adding, “We thank Joy for the many memorable moments she gave the HLN audience.”
