All My Children has already left the TV airwaves, but are the residents of Pine Valley headed for a more permanent and unexpected ending?
Plans to continue the ABC soap online in 2012 have been put on hold, ABC Soaps In Depth reports.
Prospect Park, the company behind the online productions of both All My Children and One Life to Live, has decided that it only needs one soap to launch its new internal channel — The Online Network. Because One Life to Live has been more successful in re-signing current cast members — 13 so far — Prospect Park has benched All My Children.
All My Children has only signed Cameron Mathison and Lindsay Hartley to reprise their roles online. The company was in negotiations with additional actors to return, but those talks have also been placed on hold. When Mathison talked with TVGuide.com in late October, he said his longtime co-star Rebecca Budig “is open to … possibilities” and also sounded optimistic about an appearance by series mainstay Susan Lucci.
