          Fresh off their season opening loss to Boise State, the Hokies of Virginia Tech, ranked 13th, came home with an anticipated “soft” opponent to make their Lane Stadium debut.  Problem is, there’s nothing soft about the Dukes of James Madison.  The kids from Harrisonburg showed no signs of intimidation despite being down early in the game, but JMU rallied in the 2nd half to pull off College football’s biggest upset of the year so far.  The Dukes defeated the Hokies 21 – 16.  Meanwhile, UVA lost Saturday night at Southern California, but considering the pedigree of the Trojans, the west coast trip and a late night game, the Cavaliers played admirably in the 17 – 14 loss.  Coach Mike London’s squad may be noisy in the ACC this season after all……
