The 2010 CIAA Football season kicks off this weekend, and for the first time in 18 years, the Virginia State University Trojans will open the new season at home in the cozy confines of Roger’s Stadium.  VSU’s long-time rivalry with Norfolk State evolved into the annual Labor Day Classic in 1992 and became one of Black College football’s biggest spectacles.  The Men of Troy will open on Saturday, August 28th, 6pm, under the lights vs. the Blue Bears of Livingstone College.  Andrew Faison, former Trojan standout and current head coach, enters his ninth season on “The Hill”.  The Panthers of Virginia Union University will welcome Winston-Salem State back into the CIAA in the “Furniture City Classic” taking place in High Point, NC this Saturday, and the Tigers of Saint Paul’s College visit West Virginia Wesleyan to start the 2010 campaign.  Go HBCU’s!!!!!!
