Troop – Total Respect of other People, first got recognized by winning the hit TV show Putting on the Hits. Steve Russell, Allen McNeil, John Harreld, Rodney Benford, and Reggie Warren, released their debut single “Mamacita” from their self titled album in 1988. They also had hits such as “Spread My Wings” and they covered the Jackson 5 hit, “All I Do is Think of You.” They made a cameo appearance in the classic movie “New Jack City” as street cappella group singing the “For the Love of Money” and “Living for the City”. Now, member Steve Russell is known for writing Take You Down for Chris Brown and No Air for Jordin Sparks, and Grammy award winning Invisible for Jennifer Hudson.
