Damaging a Political Sign is a Misdemeanor
Did you know that vandalizing a campaign sign is illegal? It is classified as a misdemeanor and punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
The political sign for three Democratic candidates running for Lynchburg City Council has been vandalized. The Lynchburg Better Together sign featuring candidates Dave Henderson, Nat Marshall and Christina Delzingaro was found covered with antisemitic symbols and graffiti Sunday night. Henderson tells WSET it’s deeply painful for the city of Lynchburg to experience something like this adding the swastika on the sign is a known symbol of hatred and violence.
