If you weren’t there, you definitely missed a night filled with entrepreneurs, community leaders, creatives and Richmonders coming together to connect, promote their businesses and celebrate Black-owned businesses across the city.

Here’s a look at some of the moments you missed:

1. Richmond’s Black Business Community Showed Up

From entrepreneurs and small-business owners to creatives and community organizations, the room was filled with people doing big things right here in Richmond.

The Social Series created a space for people to meet, introduce themselves and make connections that could turn into future collaborations.

2. RVA Explore Tour Introduced Themselves

RVA Explore Tour was in the building and took the opportunity to tell everyone about what they do and how they’re helping people experience Richmond.

It was perfect example of what the Social series is all about: giving local businesses a chance to put themselves in front of other business owners and potential customers.

3. Pathway to Purpose Was Part of the Conversation

Pathway to Purpose was also on hand, adding another perspective to the conversations happening throughout he night.

The event brought together organizations and businesses with different missions, but a shared goal: making connections and creating opportunities in the community.

4. Local Entrepreneurs Took the Mic

One of the best parts of the night was hearing directly from the people behiind the businesses.

Attendees had the opportunity to introduce themselves, talk about what they do and let the room know what makes their business special.

Because sometimes the best way to discover your next favorite local business is simply to hear the story behind it.

5. And Yes…There Was Singing and Rapping

Things got s little competitive when attendees showed off their musical skills for a chance to win Cousinz Festival tickets.

Some people came ready to network.

Others came ready to audition.

The singing and rapping brought plenty of laughs and energy to the room.

6. Business Owners Were Making REAL Connections

People were talking, exchanging information, learning about each other’s businesses and finding ways to support one another.

That’s the power of getting Richmond’s business community in the same room.

7. Trevor’s Set the Scene

Hosted at Trevors Restaurant and Lounge, the Social Series gave everyone a chance to experience another Black-owned Richmond business while connecting with the community.

Good food, good energy and good conversations made it a natural setting for the night.

8. The Night Was About More Than Business

At the heart of the Social Series was community.

Black Business Month is about celebrating the businesses that contribute to Richmond every day – but it’s also about the people behind those businesses.

The entrepreneurs. The creatives. The professionals. The organizations. The people building something from the ground up.
