Longstanding Newspaper Serving Black Richmonders Shuts Down
After 34 years, the Richmond Free Press announced today that it’s ceasing publication this week with the paper’s first and last online edition. The paper cited dwindling advertising revenues leading to harsh economic times.
The Richmond Free Press was founded in 1992 by journalist, editor and professor Raymond Boone and his wife Jean Patterson Boone.
