The man who threatened to kill several African-American Democratic leaders including Barack Obama and Maxine Waters has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison.

The man’s lawyer asked for leniency, saying the man had not been receiving treatment for several mental health issues including schizophrenia.  His family also said he’s an internet troll who likes to use the First Amendment to incite people.  He was found guilty of threatening to kill a former President, threatening to murder a member of Congress and transferring terroristic threats.

Should there be any leniency when someone who may have mental health issues threatens to kill a president?
