Pam Grier Gives Reasons Why She Couldn’t Stay With Richard Pryor And Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

Pam Grier has a new streaming service, brownsugar.com. The site allows you to watch 200 black films either online or on your phone. She is making the interview rounds to promote her site and stopped by Sway In The Morning to dish on her love life.

She use to date basketball legend, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. She said they didn’t work out because he wanted her to convert to Islam. They are still friends to this day. She also use to date legendary comedian Richard Pryor. She never considered him addicted to drugs because during the nine months they were together he kicked the habit cold turkey. She said, that is showed strength. She did say that one can have an addictive personality around certain people.

She told a story of Richard having a huge meeting with Columbia pictures and she came home to find him with his friends doing drugs at the table instead of at the meeting. After that incident, they were done.
