Some study once claimed that using smaller plates was the secret to keeping the pounds off, but it turns out that’s not true at all. A new study conducted by Ben-Gurion University found that people who are hungry will know what a proper portion looks like no matter how large or small of a plate used to serve it.

Worse off, the researchers said the smaller plates could actually cause a person to gain weight since the dieter is “more likely to realize they are eating less and more prone to overeating later.”
