Virginia Congressman Thomas Garrett will not seek reelection. The Buckingham County Republican told the ‘Washington Post’ yesterday that he is struggling with alcoholism and wants to focus on recovery and his family. Forty-six-year-old Garrett represents Virginia’s 5th district, which includes areas around Charlottesville. He’ll officially step down in January.

All 435 U.S. House of Representatives seats are up for reelection starting with the Virginia Primary on June 12, 2018 and the General Election on November 6, 2018. Check your voter status and poll location here.
