Early Saturday (Dec 17) morning footage from a security camera video was released that depicts artist, CeeLo Green getting injured by an exploding cellphone.
In the black and white video the producer is seen meeting with people before he’s left alone where he answers his phone. He can be spotted talking when the phone start to release smoke and then exploding while he’s holding it to his ear.
The origin of the video appears to come from a blogger Instagram account called Philly Chase, which notes that CeeLo immediately collapses out of his chair when the explosion happens. He’s seen alone, laying on the floor face down for a couple seconds before the footage cuts off.
It has not been confirmed by CeeLo’s team if this video is authentic or not, but we definitely hope he’s OK after watching this occurrence.
Last October CeeLo got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Shani James and in November he released his fifth studio album Heart Blanche. “It was just a typical night at the studio, but then again, not so typical cause I did something extra special, out of the ordinary,” he said about the night he proposed to James.
“I went and purchased a ring that we had seen together, maybe four or five months or so prior. I went back and purchased the ring and I just kind of had it stashed away in some old equipment. And I said, ‘Will you reach in there and grab something for me?’”
We look forward to finding out that he’s in good health and more information on the make/model of the dangerous phone he owned.
