Ahead of the Roots Picnic, happening today (June 4), the Philadelphia band and Usher had a major surprise for fans. Questlove who has a weekly residency at Brooklyn Bowl performed with his band, The Roots and Usher for the intimate crowd.

“Once A Year. I Deliver A Miracle,” Questlove teased on Instagram ahead of the show. Adding, “This is that miracle… tonight a special  #BOWLTRAIN….@brooklynbowl—-cop tickets now or solve this cryptic mystery that will be too late for you to figure out and get in 11pm y’all.”

The Roots and Usher performed “Yeah”, “OMG”, “DJ Got Us Fallin In Love”, and “Adore” and more hit songs— just days before the annual festival that they’ll be headlining together. Other acts set to perform at the 2016 Roots Picnic are Yuna, Willow Smith, Future, Leon Bridges, Blood Orange, and more.

In addition to performing with The Roots, Usher has been doing a lot more features and pop up performances— having performed two weeks ago at the Bad Boy Family Reunion at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. He’s also set to star in the Sugar Ray Leonard biopic, Hands of Stone that hits theaters August 26.

We hope to see more of the star this summer as festival season continues to roll out epic performances.
