The last of three men allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of Tyshawn Lee, 9, was arrested over the weekend in downstate Illinois after a brief chase, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Kevin Edwards, 23, was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Danville, Illinois, according to the Vermilion County sheriff’s office, the report says:

He was a passenger in a car that was stopped by a deputy sheriff, the office said. He ran off but was arrested about a block away, it said.

He initially gave a false name “but gave his true identity after arriving at the Vermilion County Jail,” said Capt. Michael Hartshorn, chief investigator for the sheriff’s office.

Edwards has been charged in the Nov. 2 execution-style slaying of Tyshawn along with charges against Dwright Boone-Doty, 22, and Corey Morgan, 27. Police have said Tyshawn was targeted because of his father’s gang ties and a recent series of shootings between two rival gangs in the Auburn Gresham community.

Police say Tyshawn’s shooting resulted from a bloody conflict involving rival factions of two of Chicago’s oldest gangs–the Gangster Disciples and the Black P Stones.
