The controversy continues over the transgender bathroom use. Now, the Obama Administration is stepping up and speaking out. The administration is ordering public schools across the country to let transgender students use the bathroom of their choice. The “New York Times” says the Justice Department and Department of Education will send a letter to school districts today explaining that children who identify as transgender should be allowed to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity. The newspaper also mentions that the letter contains an implicit threat that schools could lose funding if they don’t comply.
